Well, just joining in with the rest of 'em. Everyone's got a blog so why shouldn't I?
Rather obviously because you're a boring person with no life you idiot!
Can't even work out how to get my Flickr piccies to slideshow on here. I know, I've been through the "add slideshow" thing & it won't pick 'em up.
Anyhow, I'm a RationalWikian, for those who don't know what that is see: here (Sorry, the site's down 'til about 7th Sep & we're camping out at a member's wiki - he's having bandwidth problems so I won't give the link). It's a site that was begun by some exiles from Conservapedia (CP) which is a lunatic right wing christian American wiki.
You don't know me, but I'm a leftist atheist Brit (and I really mean atheist).
Originally RatWiki was totally geared towards (or against, actually) CP, but we're trying to spread our remit against all sorts of "woo" and lunacy.
My particular web hero is PZ Myers, an American atheist biologist and associate professor at the University of Minnesota. His recent tour of the Creation "Museum" was hilarious. He's a man with a wicked sense of humour.
Dawkins, of course, is great but he's got what I call amsirahc - negative charisma; he's just not a people person. I love his books but shudder when I see him on the box.
Another website of interest is: aSK which was also created by an ex-conservapedian but this time because they weren't whacky enough - the founder is a "young earth creationist: one of those guys who believes that the Bible is literally true including that the Earth was created about 6000 years ago. Unfortunately, I'm blocked from the site for intimating that they're all idiots. (Why does a lot of this crap originate in Oz?)
What do I do? I'm retired so not a lot: I'm halfway (optimist) through a book - writing it, that is - having had it returned by my agent for "substantial rewrites". I'm into Science Fiction in a big way.
